    The Monday Mood: 3-1-21

Hello, I’m Sam Kiper. Your friendly neighborhood weed enthusiast. First off, Happy March 1st. The bullshit is almost over, just hang in there. In the meantime, this is a great opportunity for us to keep leaning forward and improving on ourselves and our business. One idea is to look for leads. Have you ever heard of Lead Generation? Today we’re gonna discuss what it is and why it’s important.

Before we start, let us understand, the definition of a ‘Lead’ is any person who has an interest in a company’s product or service. That’s it. A Lead is not the idea of marketing to anyone and everyone in hopes to convince them they should be interested. You would drive yourself crazy and most likely feel  discouraged from wasting countless time and other valuable resources. Instead narrow it down. Focus on the types of people who you know are already interested in the types of products and services you offer.

Finding quality leads isn’t terribly difficult. These days, there are many social media platforms that work great for connecting businesses to other businesses. Do a little research and find out which social media platform your industry is most active in. Then, create an account and start reaching out. Linkedin is a great place to start because you can filter your search for specifics like “Cannabis growers in the San Francisco area”. This allows you to focus on those already involved or atleast showing interest in the category of what your company is offering.

Generating leads aren’t only about you reaching out directly. Your company can adopt different marketing practices, to attract potential customers to reach out to you organically. For example, start a weekly blog. This is a great way to get organic traffic. Information today is saturated on the internet. So capturing someone’s attention requires creative ways to reach potential customers.

The benefits of generating quality leads are enormous. When done right, not only do you save time. But, you are effectively doing several things at once. Your company’s brand awareness is going up. You are building relationships. And ultimately, you are closing deals.
